Profile
  • Juho Kim is an Associate Professor in the School of Computing at KAIST and an affiliate faculty member in the Kim Jaechul Graduate School of AI at KAIST, where he directs KIXLAB (the KAIST Interaction Lab). He is also Co-founder and CTO of SkillBench, Inc., an AI-powered workforce analytics platform that helps organizations measure the effectiveness of AI adoption and redesign work processes.
  • His research in human-computer interaction and human-AI interaction is guided by a vision of Interaction-Centric AI—building AI systems that people can understand, direct, and collaborate with, rather than replace them. Since 2026, he has served on the UN Independent International Scientific Panel on AI.
  • He earned his Ph.D. from MIT, M.S. from Stanford University, and B.S. from Seoul National University. In 2015–2016, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor and a Brown Fellow at Stanford.
  • He gave a keynote at NeurIPS 2022 titled "Interaction-Centric AI" and has received over 20 best paper and honorable mention awards at international venues, including an ACM CHI 2022 Best Paper Award. He is also a recipient of the KIISE/IEEE-CS Young Computer Researcher Award, KAIST Songam Distinguished Research Award, Grand Prize in Creative Teaching, and Grand Prize in Global Research Cooperation Award.
