Summary of Presentation and Discussion
Dr. Gayoung Park presented the outcomes of a series of pilot workshops exploring ways to design structured dialogues with future generations using generative AI.
The workshops invited young participants to create personas representing future generations, assume their roles, and engage in reflective discussions about long-term societal responsibilities.
Dr. Park defined empathy not merely as an emotion but as a social capability—a key component of future accountability.
By introducing generative AI as a proxy for future voices and integrating it into deliberative sessions, participants experienced simulated dialogues with future generations and explored mechanisms for structuring empathy.
These iterative experiments demonstrated how AI-facilitated dialogue and design processes can bridge past, present, and future perspectives, fostering social empathy and a deeper sense of collective responsibility toward the future.
